Application of fire-retardant paint PLAMCOR-6

Surface preparation before applying the composition

The composition is applied to the previously prepared surface. It is recommended to use the following VMP primers for preparation: ZINEP, ZINOTAN, ISOLEP-primer, ISOLEP-mastic, or VINICOR-061.

The surface shall be free from metal corrosion, peeling, and cracking.

The surface shall be prepared before applying the fire-retardant composition by removing dust and grease to the first degree according to GOST 9.402. Remove moisture, if necessary.

Composition preparation

Before use, thoroughly stir the base and hardener the with a pneumatic or other high-speed stirrer for at least 5 minutes until homogeneous. To prepare the composition, add the hardener to the base, stirring continuously (the base-to-hardener weight ratio is specified on the quality certificate and label). Wash off the hardener residue with solvent or with a spatula. Mix the components for 1-3 minutes, and then the material is ready for use. Once the components are combined, the composition is ready for use. The composition shall be applied within 1 hour at a temperature of (20±2) °С. As the temperature increases, this period is shortened.

If necessary, the material is brought to working viscosity by SOLV-UR solvent or petroleum solvent (GOST 10214). Dilution rate not more than 10% of the weight.

Application of the thermal insulation composition

PLAMCOR-6 composition shall be applied at ambient air temperature ranging from -5 to +30 °С and relative humidity up to 80%. Drying time of the coating depends on the temperature and decreases with its increase.

Application methods include airless spraying, suitable for large metal structures, and spatula application, suitable for small areas and for paint defects elimination.

PLAMCOR-6 shall be applied in one or more layers to achieve the specified thickness. With a wet thickness of 2100 µm, the dry layer thickness shall be 2000 µm.

Each layer is cured for at least 7 hours (at temperature 20±2 °C and relative humidity 65±5%).

Drying time of the coating depends on the temperature and decreases with its increase. This process lasts for at least 7 days.

The recommended coating time for PLAMCOR-6 with intumescent coatings is no longer than 3 weeks.
